System on-board installation on 28th June 2021

On 28th June 2021 hardware and software elements of the ROUTING system have finally been installed on board Monte da Guia. Team members (IST, NavSim) have installed all the necessary equipment and made available remote access to key elements of the system. The installation, but this time remotely, has been continued the following day by GMU representative.

From now the system will be working in phase 1, in which it will collect data for further processing and system calibration. It is expected that by the end of this year phase 2 would start in which the system would be fully utilized by the ship’s crew.

International consortium meeting 30th-31st May 2019 in Gdynia and Gdansk

During a two-day international ROUTING consortium meeting in Gdynia (Thursday, 30th May) and Gdansk (Friday, 31st May) representatives of the consortium partners were discussing key present topics and issues. On Thursday 30th May the meeting was held in Faculty of Navigation, Gdynia Maritime University and the discussion themes were uncertainty handling and evolutionary multi-objective (EMO) optimization. During the second day, on Friday 31th May, the meeting took place in Faculty of Ocean Engineering and Ship Technology, Gdansk University of Technology. This time ship modelling was the key topic.

The last discussion would be continued during  8th International Conference on Collision and Grounding of Ships and Offshore Structures ( organized 21 – 23 October 2019 in Lisbon by the IST team. The next international ROUTING consortium meeting would probably be held in Lisbon in Dec 2019/Jan 2020.

Meeting at Gdansk University of Technology

On 11th January 2019 at Gdansk University of Technology a meeting of Polish part of the ROUTING consortium took place. During the meeting representatives of Gdynia Maritime University, Gdansk University of Technology and NavSim Polska discussed issues concerning on-going tasks in the project. The key elements in the discussion were: weather forecast server and its  configuration as well as architecture of the weather routing module.

The next ROUTING meeting, this time including all the international consortium Partners, is expected to take place in Poland, April/May 2019.

Kick-off meeting in Lisbon

ROUTING kick-off meeting was held at Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon, Portugal) on 25th-26th September, 2018.

During the meeting representatives of all consortium Partners discussed organizational and technical issues related to the research in the project.
Each workpackage was discussed in detail, with special attention to any possible technical or organizational difficulty that should be addressed and resolved.
